I have used other brands of these products before and this one is similar to most. This is a cheap sheet of plastic that is taped to the window with double-sided tape. Make sure the area you plan to use it on is clean and dry. It still fell off for me, although the wind is strong here, so there is also a draft. Can I save on heating costs? This is mainly to mask a small draft if you can't replace the window. Can this product withstand strong drafts? No, in my experience it will slowly move away from the window until it almost completely detaches and is unusable. I glued it the first day and the second day one side was completely peeled off and the glue cannot be reused. Do you get extra material or tape in case you mess it up or the tape sticks to itself? Yes, for the most part. You get a bit of extra tape, just enough to re-do one side of the window I'd say. However, if you install it and plan to do everything from scratch, it will not be enough for you. Can you see the product by looking at the window from inside/outside? will see it in the window, whether it's reflection, glare, or wrinkles. You can use a hair dryer to smooth it down a bit, but don't worry if you end up with too many wrinkles when you put it on. Does plastic tear easily? Surprisingly no. Glue is the main disadvantage. The plastic itself is surprisingly strong despite being so thin. Any recommendations? I would use 2 to make it as perfect as possible. Take your time. It's not the worst product. Just understand that this is a temporary fix for small drafts. If these are your expectations when purchasing, you will not be disappointed.
