After slow, casual learning about beer I finally decided it was time to learn about proper glassware. After being intimidated by some luxury brands, I decided that the widely recommended Libby starter kits would be an affordable option for beginners, and overall these recommendations are not undeserved. The glasses are sturdy (almost too strong, although they can take a beating, but also a bit unnecessarily heavy), arrived whole and unscratched, and the improvement in drinking over my old randomly assembled glasses was well worth the investment. However, a small defect in the glass on one of the poured glasses caused the glass to shake ever so slightly, not enough to compromise the drink, but just a minor defect that confirmed the overall sense of a set discount. Heavy, not particularly attractive, and perhaps not thoroughly quality controlled, these are definitely entry-level glasses and not fine glassware, but in my case on a budget, they're mostly just what I need. It's definitely an upgrade from simply drinking from ordinary glasses and is great for newbies like me who are afraid to blindly invest in extremely delicate outfits straight out of the gate, but at the same time I don't see myself holding on to any of these glasses. in five years I can gradually exchange them for something better for little money.
