The product works very well - I bought 2 and joined them together to make an even larger design. It's like Lego, you can build it however you want. I lined up mine with 3x5s and then an extra 2 high on the far left. I put the side caps of each cube right on the edge so I actually have 3 very long cubes with just bars on the front and back of each intersection. considerable weight on it, but it works well for storing grocery crates and containers with USB and ethernet cables. I think 15 pounds per cube would be the max for the bottom tier and subtract about 3-5 pounds per tier as you go up. Because of the way the bottom of each cube is arranged, it's very stable for holding things that don't take up the entire space. I wanted to put some 3D printed statues on the upper levels and it was difficult to keep them in place because they were a bit uneven, there was nothing they could do to fix it, it's just like that - that's more of a note as a complaint.
