I just needed to clean the racks so I used this product as a lube. It didn't smoke, but due to residue on the roller extension, they didn't work. There were traces of old fat left, like burnt sugar. It took a lot of cleaning with a plastic scraper and soaking to remove most of the residue. The result is the same as having no lube on it at all, maybe even worse. Look elsewhere for rack lube. An additional note to all ball bearing rack buyers: I find it outrageous that oven manufacturers do not offer any products to relubricate these racks and disclaim any liability. They sold me shelves at a very high price but did not allocate funds for proper maintenance.
