Although this product works to keep an extra key in my car, when I get out of the car with this key in my hand (the key is in this bag) the doors stay locked open. On the other hand, if I take my key fob, wrap it in foil and walk around the car, none of the doors will open. I have tried to seal this package as carefully as possible without changing the results. So if you just need to keep a spare key in your car or in your luggage, that's fine. If you want to hide the key somewhere in the car while swimming or hiking, that's not possible. In most places, people can still walk up to your car and open the door without having the key on them. If they shielded this design better then this would be a good product. As it is, I would keep looking for something else.
