Review on Mkono Potty Trainer Corner Litter Box: Ideal for Hamsters, Guinea Pigs, Ferrets, Gerbils, and Rats (Random Color) by Stephanie Burgos

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Potty training simulator in development.

PROS: - Durable plastic - Great color variation - Easy to clean - Bars don't hurt the guinea pig CONS: - Guinea pig doesn't use it all the time - Side hooks won't attach to the corner of the guinea pig cage - Difficult to train when the potty is up. At first I was worried that my guinea pig would be too big for potty training, but I was wrong. It definitely fits a guinea pig (mine is about 7 months old) and she won't even get close. To get her used to the potty, I put it under her hay rack so she could use it as a lever to get the hay out of the top of the hay rack. Then I moved it around in the cage so she got used to looking in different places. I targeted the areas where she would normally go about her business, but she always found other places to poop. It's definitely a long process, but hopefully I can get her fully potty trained. For cages that are not curved at the bottom, hooks on the side of the pot corner are recommended. Unfortunately my cage is bent so it doesn't fit flush. She used it so it's not a waste of money. but I think the increased level of potty training will make it harder for them to learn how to run their own business. Most likely I'll buy a potty trainer that stands on the floor for easier access.
