What a great find! I came across a recommendation for magnetic match rings on my mom's blog and while in the market for magnetic explorer toys I ran down and ordered one. I bought this for my 3 year old daughter (to keep her entertained while I homeschool her 5 year old sister) but I will say she is a bit young for that. She can create many maps without my help, but she needs help with setting up and resetting after each map. My 5 year old loves it too and can play with it more by himself. I think this is a great educational toy; In addition to learning magnetic polarities, my child has spatial visualization skills by seeing a map and translating that pattern/orientation onto real magnets. Throw in some fine motor practice (and levitating objects on top of that!) and you've got yourself a hit of an educational toy!
