The first one I received looked like the post office had used it like a soccer ball as the face was completely cracked. Ordered a replacement and got a new one two days later. It was packaged well and looked great. I got it for my 99 F250 Super Duty 7.3. There is no connection diagram, but it is easy to find out; Take a picture of how the wires were connected before and put them back on the same connectors. I've read that it doesn't matter as long as the big wires go to the big terminals and the small wires go to the small terminals. Remember that the Glow Plug Relay (GPR) solenoid is the rear solenoid of the two, or the one closest to the firewall. The fit is very tight and I recommend mounting the solenoid where the wires point to the passenger corner under the hood. After installation, the magnet is installed at an angle of 45 *. The biggest recommendation I give for the '99 Ford is to also remove the front solenoid as it is almost impossible to mount the GPR to the mounting studs when it is on. Once you've secured the new solenoid to the mounting studs, don't install it all the way; Start tightening the nuts while pressing on them; Once it is fully down there is no room to start them as the mounting bolts are almost touching the sides of the solenoid. Unfortunately, you can't get an outlet on it either, so you'll have to tighten it with an open-end wrench (that's the worst part of the job). Once the new solenoid is installed, go ahead and install the other solenoid and you are done. You should be able to use the bushing for other solenoid mounting nuts. Solenoid Review: Live in the Northwest and as the night got colder I had to hook up my truck. I changed the oil to 5w-40 synthetic and it still won't start without AC power. I saw a video about winterizing your diesel and they recommend this solenoid as one of the upgrades. All the reviews I read were also very high. When I got the second solenoid and installed a new one, my truck was offline all week. I usually had to plug it in for a couple of hours AND turn the key at least 4 times for it to probably start. After installation, I went in, turned the key, waited for the "Wait to start" light to go out, then turned it on. It was about 33* outside and it started with no problems, no smoke, nothing. Best investment I've made to date and now I don't have to worry about it not starting. As you can see it's a lot larger than the stock solenoid and many are reporting that it lasts a lot longer than the stock, not just the life of the car. White Rodgers cost about $25 more than regular ones, so pay extra and don't be afraid to get stuck.
