Review on Easy-Step Door Stops (4 Inch) - Brass (Premium Quality Finish) : Hands-Free by David Plunkett

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Effortlessly holds my heavy fire door open and my hands are free.

I never thought I would be so happy with something like a doorstop but my goodness this solved such an annoying problem for me. I literally have the worst laundry service. This is a small space that connects the garage to the kitchen and is actually more like a hallway. This makes it even narrower for my front loaders, making things like getting groceries a real problem. Since the door leads to the garage, it's a spring-hinged fire door that slams shut by itself, so any entry means the door has to be opened and I have to try to get through with the weight of what I'm carrying. I actually bruised my thigh on the doorknob a couple of times, this stupid room is so narrow. I've tried a wedge door stop before but the fire door is too heavy to stay open. I also tried another, more traditional style of doorstop that needs to be folded up and down by hand. It was uncomfortable and barely worked with the heavy door. I saw it and thought maybe it would work and it exceeded all my expectations. It was easy to install and very easy to use. Your hands are also free. It actually holds the heavy fire door open with no problem, so I don't hit it with my hip when trying to open it when unloading the car. I couldn't find anything like this in regular stores, but I looked for it. I'm so glad I found this.
