Adding I2S support to a microprocessor

Teensy 4.0 just came out and I was looking for a way to play some simple sounds. Previous versions of Teensy had a DAC (Digital to Analog Converter) in the system that I could hook up to the amps and speakers. Play pre-recorded sounds. Unfortunately, Teensy 4.0 does not have a DAC, but supports I2S. I was able to quickly add I2S support by connecting a MakerHawk MAX98357 to Teensy's I2S pins and to an Adafruit breadboard speaker. Well played.

Suitable for microcontrollers or development board systems with I2S audio output, such as B. Raspberry Pi, Arduino and ESP32.
