I bought this for an emergency kit with AAA battery, handle, USB and solar charging options. Nice little device with sensitive radio signal BUT the radio does NOT run on battery. I switched to battery and there are no lights (no power) and the radio doesn't work. Only the flash works. Damn! So my block is broken? Someone else? The radio works perfectly with USB charging. I need to try solar charging and a hand crank. Why are so many emergency units failing? I had to throw away 3 others (didn't have solar charges). I test them every year. So far I can't find one that actually works in case of a major emergency,
