There seems to be a lot of misinformation about these USB adapters regarding charging capabilities. In short: to charge tablets/phones you need a USB charging cable that shorts the data pins. You can find these cables/adapters on the Revain website. Also, only one of the USB ports can charge these devices. Note. This cable works great when you use it for your dashcam and your phone/tablet. In my case, I converted my car radio into a Nexus 7 tablet and firmly plugged the cable into one of the USB ports. I connected a G1W DVR to the other input. Both devices charge perfectly.
