Now a warning about charging. This dock delivers 85W of power (compared to the standard 96W Apple charger). The docking station has no problem powering the MBP 16 and charging the battery under normal conditions, but I noticed while rendering with the handbrake on (which almost taxed the CPU and ramped up the fans) that the computer ran about 90- draws 95 watts. of the overall performance, while drawing about 5-10 watts from the battery. So if you ran resource-intensive tasks like this for many hours, the battery would probably start to drain. But under normal conditions, this is not a problem at all, since the computer consumes only 10-30 watts during normal tasks, or 50-70 watts when actively working in Lightroom. The docking station therefore provides more than enough power. to keep up until the CPU/GPU was tethered for hours at a time. Update 7/23/20: I ran into a small problem. I've noticed several times that my network throughput doesn't match Gigabit Ethernet speeds (tested with iPerf). Disconnecting/reconnecting my MBP from the docking station did not restore the correct speed, nor did disconnecting/reconnecting the ethernet cable. However, after shutting down and shutting down the dock itself, full speed was restored. I think it happened twice, maybe thrice in the months I've had it.
