Instructions are difficult to follow

The product itself is well made. The biggest problem with the product is the instructions. Measurements are nonsense. Instead of 1 3/8 inches, are they using measurements like 1.59 inches or 2.39 inches? The other tricky part is that the rail comes in five or six sections, making it impossible to hold on to to mark your holes.
