They come in handy on the stovetop, in the oven, on the grill etc. They provide enough heat insulation that I can gently place the ravioli in boiling water and remove them by hand without burning myself . Lifting heavy pots and lids (with metal handles) is much easier with them than with a traditional oven mitt or oven mitt. Last night I hand turned a roast chicken (twice) - literally - in a 350F oven. She picked it up, held it to make the water glass, and then turned it over. Easier and more reliable than a fork or tongs. They even make peeling garlic cloves easier. I wish they were a bit smaller as both my partner and I have small hands. But they work well and are easy to clean. Highly recommended.
