I bought these for use on a golf cart. I put them in series with a few other elements to get the voltages in the right range and they work quite well. Brackets are metal, with a slight up/down adjustment. The base itself can be rotated for mounting on the nut. The gaps are quite correct, so before screwing the lamp to the bracket, it is necessary to put the lock nut. There are no instructions, but assembly is fairly easy and the wires are correctly color coded red/black. Simple 2-wire interface, no special modes or anything like that. What's really nice are the side projectors. They emit some light from the side and at an angle. Not enough to dazzle other drivers passing by, but enough to illuminate the side areas where you need to see if you're turning.
