I use it to finish the veneer that I put on the face of my speakers. I love the look of the guitar finish so I do a lot of explosions and colors. These dyes are great! I bought a sample pack to test, used it on many projects and still have plenty of powder left over. I can make any color for $20. Red looks a bit pink, but if you add a little bit of brown and yellow, you can get a real red. I use them in 70% alcohol and they dissolve well when the solvent is warm. Then let them rest for a few minutes. I generally sand to 320 grit when blending and applying multiple coats, 150 grit works well if you are doing a solid color. You need to put some kind of transparent dye on the dye or it will get on your hands when you touch the item even after it dries. I use abrasive paste then whatever I want car polish looks good.
