Not very bright. Motion-activated feature does not stay on long enough for use in closet. The on/off switch is too small to operate it manually. You can mount it on a screw plate or use a magnetic strip. The magnet is not strong so it can easily be knocked off the wall. They are thin so do not take up space and are not visible when installed in the display case. They work well in a kitchen cabinet. The batteries are rechargeable, which is very convenient. Pressing the disk light will turn it off and on sooner, but these disk lights, even LED lights, eat up batteries like candy. In summary, it would be nice on the stairs but not in the closet
