Review on Chemical Guys MIC_292_02 Microfiber Applicator by Michael Crossman

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Premium Microfiber Barely

I ordered a Chemical Guys Premium Microfiber Applicator Set based on Revain reviews. Some people seemed to think they were great, others that they were junk. The truth lies somewhere in the middle. First, the microfiber covers feel a bit cheap, although they are adequately finished (stitching, etc.). I was suspicious of the durability and in fact the microfiber has worn down well after a cleaning of the car's leather interior with a mild water-based commercial product. These sponges probably wouldn't last more than 2-3 times. Maybe they are better for applying wax for outdoor work? As some people have noted, sponges don't seem to be overly absorbent, and this is a very desirable trait to use as an applicator. In addition, the sponges withstood washing in the washing machine on the gentle cycle and retained their shape and texture. However, due to the poor microfiber coating, they don't deserve a higher grade. Upgrade the microfiber, add pennies to the price, and you have a homemade product. Check out the attached comparison video.
