Review on πŸ”Œ I/O Crest 2 Port PCIe SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Card Adapter with UASP, SATA Power, Renesas Chipset by Dwight Tim

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Win 8 PRO + ASUS P8Z77V Premium

This little gem of an adapter card worked flawlessly right out of the box. The drivers on the included CD were surprisingly more up to date than those posted on the SYBA website - many months in advance. I installed an adapter which now gives me 2 USB 3 ports (one on my ASUS P8Z77V Premium MOBO and the other on this card). I connected the ATECH Pro 37U USB 3 media reader to this adapter card using a 19-pin cable. I checked Station Drivers to make sure I have the latest drivers installed and that the CD is indeed correct and up to date. Note that my system has the latest drivers for Windows 8 installed. I restarted my computer and expected to be prompted to install the drivers for the adapter from the CD. Nothing. I checked device manager and no yellow diamonds. no error displays. I have a Patriot USB 3 flash drive connected to 2 ports on the card. It was recognized immediately and all the files on it were displayed. NOTHING WAS ACCEPTED - i.e. I have NOT installed ANY drivers on Windows 8. Great! My media reader (1 USB 3 port), my case (Cooler Master Storm Enforcer with 2 USB 3 ports), SYBA card (2 USB 3 ports) and USB 3 hub on my ASUS P248Q (4 ports). If everything seems to work - out of the box and without errors, I won't be messing around with any drivers. Just enjoy the moment. SYBA. Update your site with the latest drivers and do us all a favor by posting the date your drivers were posted to the site and listing the code version, release, and change levels. YOU'RE WELCOME! I don't like chasing after chipset manufacturers, Microsoft, etc. to make sure I know my drivers. For this reason: 4 stars. not ideal 5.
