It's been a week now and I couldn't just "dunk" in, there are things I didn't know I should keep in mind. I'm sorry this might sound long, but it sucks when you get a new toy and then can't play with it right away. So bear with me, I'll do this for you lol. At the end I have an up-to-date overview. YOU MUST CONSIDER CABLE LENGTH AND YOUR CONFIGURATION. Whether you're using a laptop or desktop, the included cables can be 4 feet long, limiting installation convenience when your rig isn't close by. It is highly recommended to have a male to female HDMI extension cable and a male to female USB extension cable if your installation is on the floor or further away. *Don't buy the USB-C to USB-C extender as it doesn't fit the displayport please* LINK - if you have multiple monitors ie I have a 1080ti with 3 displayports and 1 hdmi even though I have a tv in my setup so that the HDMI on my graphics card is occupied. You CAN use the built in HDMI port if you enable the setting in the BIOS, just google it if you go that route, but when I went into the settings some color settings and "display" settings were grayed out (unselectable ), if you think about it, maybe it's the built-in HDMI somehow, I ordered an HDMI-DisplayPort adapter. Connecting to displayport didn't solve this problem, I haven't figured it out yet as I just finished doing this review, sorry. Colors look good out of the box, although I need to know more about why I can't access all the settings. Finally the stand. It's good, it works, it's pretty solid, but if you want to move it, you even have to rotate it slightly, you have to grab the display and then the stand separately. It's impractical to try to move both because the stand doesn't snap into place and isn't wide enough to grip both sides. If for some reason you want to draw vertically, this stand doesn't support that in that position, and there's no room for a cable, so you can only move vertically in one direction even if you could. It's not that big of a problem to be honest, but it's a fixable situation for anyone who might be concerned. To do this, I look at the laptop stand and even consider "monitor rotation" - REVIEW. This is my first step towards becoming a digital artist outside of Sketchbook on my Note 9 so I'm not aware of the comparison but I've wanted it for a long time and have researched it from time to time for the last 3 or 4 years. I've learned that Huion is a much cheaper second-best device and that the display is preferred over one of the "blind pads", but the "blind pads" allow you to adopt a more ergonomic position while working. and now that I have one, I understand. This is an amazing tool that I can't wait to master. It's worth the money, doesn't seem cheap, and the little painting experience I've had so far has been more enjoyable than I imagined. The ratings say things like "natural feel", "simulates the surface of paper". and you're trying to understand, but you just can't fully understand it until you try, it's beautiful. Really nice. The settings seem acceptable by default but what do I know and I need to figure out how to access ALL the settings. The software is simplified and binding keys/shortcuts to the display keys is easy, although using the keys isn't as cool as I'd hoped, I still enjoy using the keyboard but it's better to have and not need than to need and not to have. The pen is accurate, I keep accidentally pressing one of the buttons, I wish they weren't so easy to press but honestly it might be because I'm used to holding my mechanical pencil when my finger rests on it Knob, pencil I use the knob in the same place, and pencil artists often turn the tool. I wouldn't call these things "cons" or cons, but it's just what you're used to and I still have to get used to this new tool. In general, if you feel this can help you become a better artist, you owe it to yourself to find out, don't waste your time and find out. Invest in yourself, you can always resell if you find it doesn't meet your expectations, but LEARN so you can move forward. I got this so I have no more excuses, now I have everything I need to be successful as an artist. I thought that something quirky would revitalize something in me to work harder or just create more opportunities to explore other things so I could figure out what I wanted to do. Now I feel like I can and I'm glad I did. Hope that helps. All the best on your journey, cheers. I have no discount or payment for this review, it is genuine and honest, I am not a fan of Huion, this is not a fake review.
