Review on High-Performance Air King 9312 Multi-Mount Wall Fan for Efficient Airflow in Black Powder-Coated Steel Design by Kara Torres

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Sturdy little fan. Affordable, quality Air King

Air King is an industrial product and you often see them in places like warehouses, trailer doors. They have a reputation for quality and I have seen 40 year old units still bleeding air. The fans hold up as a result of true craftsmanship, although it says Made in America I cannot vouch for the provenance of the details. However, given the sub-$90 price tag, I was suspicious as they usually go for $200 and up, but then again, that's a small thing. It's in the garage under the ceiling where the relatively new family gym is, and the ceiling is fairly low. The blade angle is aggressive and as such this device is the smallest fan it could be. Our garage is about 300 square meters and there is enough air movement at an average level. Comes with a security cable which is nice. It does not come with mounting hardware. I have just one comment: it is intended for industrial use and therefore installation is left to the discretion of the consumer. Make sure you have the right fasteners, remember physics matters, specifically you want a linear forged bolt, not a stamped bolt and it needs to have high shear strength. Although unlikely, over time a forging die can crack due to the torque applied at start-up, while a linear forging machine will bend before breaking. The same goes for wrenches, wood, etc., the direction of the fibers is important. Summary: Would buy again, it's a great little fan, although a bit greasy and tedious to install, it's the same as the ones I installed in camps 30 years ago. . You will not be disappointed.
