I'm glad we sprung the little extra for the thicker cover. Our pool has maintained a lovely 82-85 F since the sun started shining, and it's only the beginning of June in Michigan. It never got warmer than about 76 F all last summer without a cover.The thickness feels great for durability too. I had to cut a couple slots in it to go around our steps, and it still stays sturdy. It lays the way it should, and doesn't tear as we pull it off and on.It is just slightly larger than needed, so there's a bit of extra curled up the sides, but that doesn't hurt anything and is better than being too small.
