2007 Tahoe Oil Pumps

Fits a 2007 Tahoe 5.3 Flex. There was an issue with a hard o-ring on the oil pump sensor causing low oil pressure for the first 10 minutes after a cold start. On my ramp the idle pressure dropped just above 0. Once the oil was good and hot the o-ring swelled enough and the oil pressure returned to normal. A very strange problem. 156,000 miles, by the way. Since I still had to remove the oil pan to replace the O-ring, I also removed the oil pump. Left in the high-pressure spring. Works perfectly! Hot idle pressure with 5w-30 around 38 pounds is very reassuring that everything is fine. I thought I had a slight noise from the hydraulic jack at idle. If so, I'm not completely silent now. 55 pounds or so on the freeway. A little hint. Get a flywheel locking tool. According to GM specifications, the compensation screw must be tightened very firmly. Tighten 240 ftlbs with the old bolt. Remove the old screw. Install the new bolt and torque to 37 ftlbs and rotate an additional 140 degrees. Overall very happy with this pump!
