The straps are attached to the sole with rivets. Rivets rust very quickly, and when they wear out, the straps fall off the sole, rendering the sandal unusable. I won't buy these again and I can't recommend them either. Expected much better for €30. Nine months later I fixed the broken heel strap buckles so I could wear the sandals. Now (12/21) the soles are starting to split open at the fold line below the ball of the foot. The soles will clearly start to split in half here, resulting in a much larger advantage.
