Rooftop Rodeo: wrangle your cargo with Mountainpeak's Van Roof Rack

I recently purchased the Mountainpeak 57' Ladder 3 Bar Rain-Gutter Mount Racks for my 1996-Up Chevy Express 1500 2500 3500 Full Size Cargo Van. After dragging the box up to my roof and nervously scrambling up after it, I found the installation process to be relatively easy. The rain-gutter mounts were a little tricky, but with a little muscle and a lot of swearing, I was able to secure the bars into place. Once installed, the rack held my cargo well, and I felt confident driving with items on my roof. However, I noticed some wind noise at high speeds and the bars seemed to vibrate a bit. Also, the ladder rack component felt flimsy and I was afraid it would bend under the weight of my ladder. Overall, the Mountainpeak roof rack gets the job done, but it could use some improvements to make it a five-star product. Until then, I'll continue to use it for smaller jobs and stick to lower speeds on the interstate.

Pros
  • ‎Mountainpeak
Cons
  • May not be compatible with certain van models and make it difficult to install on your vehicle without modifications or extra parts
