UPDATE: I have contacted the seller and explained the issues I was having with this item. In short, the seller offered a satisfactory solution. While the original description I provided remains relevant, I appreciate the seller's customer service and have therefore upgraded my rating to 3 stars. First Rating: I would give this item at least 3 stars, maybe 4. The quality of the materials is sufficient to make it a usable step stool, if a little wobbly. However, I was unable to properly assemble this product due to interference caused by the contact of the upright tubes (which form the underside of the handle/handle) and the rubber feet on the legs of the step stool. (See the attached picture for details.) Therefore, this product actually cannot be assembled correctly. To create the necessary clearance between the top of the rubber feet and the bottom of the handlebars, I would have to either drill new holes to allow for proper offset, or cut out portions of the rubber feet or handlebars to provide the required clearance. For the average consumer either option would be unwise as cutting the rubber legs would affect their ability to remain attached to the legs and cutting the steel tubing itself would be beyond the ability of most people. Of course, none of the options should be considered at all, as this is a condition that no one should bother with. Since no one else has issued a recall with this defect, my guess is that, as is typical of Chinese products, the rubber feet have been redesigned or reupholstered and no one has bothered to verify that they are causing interference. Or maybe the pipe cutters weren't set properly for a batch of hand pipes or legs. Who knows? In any case, I would normally take the time to review this product and instead opt to simply return it for a refund through Revain. Because as expected, when buying "Made in China" "Caution! But this article particularly annoys me as it was intended as a Christmas present for a relative with a partial disability. Now there really is no way to order another ladder (with a handle like that) and get it in time for the planned gift exchange. So yes; It frustrates him that he ordered this, only to find the product is just another example in an endless line of poorly designed, quality-assured Chinese imports that are foisted on us unfortunate consumers.
