Well, this was disappointing and in my opinion not a quality product. The seal, possibly liquid nail, put on the back of the board spread out to the front face of the fireplace. The holes drilled on the boards did not match where the screws were supposed to go in. The wood pegs did not fit and we had to use wood glue so they would stay in place, and we had to re-drill the holes. We have plans to fix this up to make the fireplace actually look nice despite the manufacturers disaster screw ups. We are placing wood molding on the front to cover up the glue, and also to cover up the areas where they missed in some places with the nails, that protruded out on the front of the fireplace. We discovered this while putting it together, so not returning. I was excited to order this, and was so disappointed when we put it together, but we will figure out how to make it look nice.
