Pleasantly surprised at how well it removes dull edges. As other reviewers have pointed out, this is a rough to semi-rough finish. It's not a stone. Only 1/4 inch thick (if at all) on two sheets of 1/16 aluminum glued to a sheet of 1/16 plastic. I've sharpened my kitchen knife, pocket knife, scissors, letter opener and just the tip of my fillet knife (just because I ruined it) and they've all gotten sharper, but I won't be using it on my expensive blades ($Uschi-Knife, Cold$ teel, Dama$cus, $pyderco, etc.). 4000/8000. I would estimate that the corresponding scores would be 400/100. yes it is rough Remarkably, the edges are already wearing away after only 5 blades have been sharpened, so I think I lost a few diamonds in the process. Also lightweight so it fits in my pocket. I give 4 stars because it works and doesn't feel cheated.
