This is a BIG heat gun! It heats up instantly (there are 2 temperature settings) and is easy to use. I use it with PVC shrink bags to seal gift baskets and food grade polyolefin shrink bags to seal customized cookies. The pouches compress very quickly and give my baskets and cookies a crystal clear, pristine look. I was very impressed that the heat from the gun did NOT damage or melt the dried icing on my cookies while I was sealing them. I also found this heat gun. VERY USEFUL to speed up the drying process when applying multiple layers/colors of icing to decorate biscuits. This saved me hours of "downtime" waiting for the paint/glaze layer to dry before moving on to the next step. You no longer have to worry about glaze colors blending; I simply "uncover" the cookies with a blow dryer and the frosting half sets and I can apply another coat or color. There is no comparison between this hair dryer and a hair dryer! This heat gun gets much hotter (even at low temperature) and is much faster to use. This heat gun removes all wrinkles from the plastic film and gives it a more finished look. I can seal a large basket in under a minute and it looks perfect! A heat gun is also much quieter than a hair dryer. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
