and received a small upgrade kit to try a different size. Small fit me better

Comparison test: I have a pair of Eargasms – https://www.amazon.com/gp/product /B01GQMZ1DG/ and Etymotic ER20XS-SMF-P.es. - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00RM6Q9XW/ as a higher db update from my headphones - https://www.amazon.com/Earasers-HEM001-Musicians-Plugs-Medium/dp/B00E2D9HAA/ (shown with an "upgrade kit" that included a blue tote bag that I've had for a little over a year - so yeah, it looks a bit shabby. I ordered the medium ones and got a small upgrade kit to buy a try a different size (The little ones worked better for me.) Sonically, the Etymotics cut volume smoothly across the board with a noticeable increase in volume compared to the Earasures, but not as much as I'd hoped Treble and bass don't roll off as much so it doesn't deliver the flat rendition promised and makes it difficult for people to understand (which I can't handle in my use case).Sage consolation., I'm kinda confused about the new ones Both the earplugs l have softer tips but when I pulled them out of my ears (nothing to see but nothing to hold to pull them out) my ears hurt. The softer silicone tips here also create strong enough suction to damage my eardrums while wearing them. Definitely not to be compared with earplugs. The single oval tip is simple. cozy. More comfortable than any headphones I've ever worn. Somehow the oval shape makes them work wonders. There is no real "pressure" on the sides of the ears. I'm not saying you'll forget you have them, but you definitely can once you get used to them. Size is a small issue - the medium ones are too big for me (and difficult to insert) but the small ones are perfect but need deep insertion. However, there is no suction, so no eardrum pain (which I had with both ear and etymotics, but was much more pronounced with ear gas). Visually, the earbuds are cleaner - the Etymotic's tongue sticks out slightly visibly (but also allows it to be pulled out). However, the ear tips are completely invisible (with small tips for me. The small plastic pin lies well behind/on the inside of my tragus (thanks to google images) The small medium-tipped plastic stem sticks out just enough to be seen, but always is much more invisible than the Etymotics tongue) All of this is based on being able to look in the mirror and turn my head I can't see the ear cups in general (the blue filter is probably visible on the back) - which was a major downside when I had to pull them out and couldn't find anything to touch. db while Etymotics 13 db argasms is basically a low quality product in every respect Earasers have a peak of 19 dB (printed on the box) but on the back of the box there is a label that says "5 dB" because they reduce sound (and the dB rating is not an accurate description of how much sound is reduced). However, what I'm trying to hide is a consistently very loud fan noise - and they don't work for me - hence the search for an update. Altogether I don't really like Etymotic. I've never liked triple flanges - my ears itch when the 2nd and 2nd flange "peel off" after insertion. Eargasm is more comfortable in this regard, but the softer silicone "gives" a little more, creating painful suction on the eardrum. The filter hits the front of my ear and isn't that comfortable either and I can't get a proper fit. So I think the Earasers ruined me and I can't wear any other earbuds (except foam for emergencies). The only downside to earasers is their poor handling of fan noise. Both the Etymotics and Eargasms are slightly better in this area, but due to comfort issues with the triple flanges I don't think I'll be able to use them for most of the day. Earasers offer higher DB filters. on their website (but not Revain) and I think I'll pester their support to see if I can get a set. This is probably the best solution for me at the moment. So. If you can save for Earasers, do so. If not, spend a few bucks more on Etymotics.
