When you buy a scale, most (if not all) will say it's calibrated to the manufacturer's factory specifications. However, there are MANY factors that can cause your scale to fail before you even use it! After learning the hard way, I decided to buy this calibration weight to keep my scale zero. Weight 500g, see instruction manual for the weights needed to calibrate the scale. ADVANTAGES 1) It is important that your scale is within factory specs 2) It calibrates 500.00g which to me proves it is accurate 3) I calibrate my scale often and the weight never fails me. CONSUMERS RECOMMENDATIONS 1) If you want your scale to weigh correctly, buy this weight 2) After you receive it, check to make sure it is not damaged (some reviews note that this happens 3) Center it on the scale as best as you can. If possible, centering will give you the best calibration.
