Compact, beautifully designed cell phone holder

My Corvette suffers from a severe lack of easy access storage space which results in my iPhone being moved regularly and as a result of Murphy's Law almost always bouncing into a dark inside corner or under the seat , and a stop is required to remove. Tired of this exercise, I started looking for a way to mount the phone to the car. I was impressed by the number of ways to do this, from sticky gel pads to clips, adapters that fit into car air vents, and combinations of both. . Some of these clunky gadgets looked more like Rube Goldberg junk than useful gadgets, and after scouring various online forums for pros and cons, I settled on the Scosche magnetic mount as it's universally praised and her simple, small and relatively unobtrusive design. . Scosche makes several types of mounting bases with the same or similar magnetic head, which allows them to be installed almost anywhere on the vehicle. The main factor for me was that I wanted to attach or remove the phone with one hand, which eliminated the clamp. Units. In addition, the magnetic block allows the phone to be positioned vertically, horizontally or simply at any angle with one hand. The box contained a mounting base and magnetic head with a black and silver border, small and large thin black steel self-adhesive pads. attached to the phone, an additional transparent thin plastic barrier to minimize damage to the phone when attaching the steel plate, instructions and alcohol swab. The magnetic head flexes to provide a variety of positions. As a nice touch, there is a small molded clip on the back of the magnet head for attaching a phone charger cable. The rod has a ball on the end that is attached to the base with a large knurled nut that allows it to spin freely and then hold it in place when tightened. After an hour of fiddling around with places in the car that would allow the phone to be seen easily and not interfere with the normal operation of the buttons and switches, I found the optimal mounting location and position for the metal plate on the back of the phone (excluding phones with wireless charging, the position of the plate on the phone allows for additional flexibility in locating the phone in the holder). After cleaning the surface of the attachment point with alcohol, I removed the protective cover from the base and attached it by pressing firmly. It seems very solid, unlikely to change position. My iPhone lives in an Anker battery/case with a "soft" rubberized finish. Placing a metal spacer between the phone and the Anker case prevented the magnetic head from seating properly, so I cleaned the back of the case thoroughly with Windex, then wiped with alcohol and attached the metal plate. It appears to be securely attached. The phone attaches easily and securely to the mount with one hand, I can position it at any angle and remove it by pulling to overcome the magnet. My first reaction is that the days of chasing my phone in the dark corners of my car might be over. The Good: Good design and quality materials, One-handed attachment/detachment of the phone Positive feedback on multiple forums Small size Wide positioning OptionsCharging cable clip Easy operation and installation (Basic rule: the simpler the better) Bad: The price is a bit high. Fair market value is around $15 IMO. Exposed objects: How does the adhesive react to a summer temperature of 100 degrees? Removing items that are attached with self-adhesive foam or tape is also problematic. Successful removal is possible with dental floss, heat and suitable solvents.
