The ability to do medical terminology searches directly in our transcriptions.

This was very helpful for searching patient records without having to go through each provider's notes or other paper files - just search transcripts! It also helped us have more accurate reports that included physician dictated information as well as nurse transcribers' notations (especially when we needed it). I wish there were some way of viewing what providers had entered into their own note fields versus those captured by the nurses who took over during phone calls so they could be viewed separately but this is probably something only advanced users would appreciate/use. We are solving two problems here; firstly providing better quality care because no one has time anymore to read multiple documents from different sources looking for critical info and secondly making sure the doctors get everything right before surgery which helps prevent costly mistakes down the line.
