5 years ago I bought a house with three bathrooms with these plastic handles on each bathtub faucet. They broke all the time. However, I found a way to extend her life. Hold the knob securely and as close to the shower wall as possible when turning. In other words, don't touch it far by the handle where that little bump is. When switching on and off, stay as close to the inside as possible. Don't pull on it either. Twist it tightly and evenly. I think if you move it too far from the base it will warp the plastic. I hope I explained it clearly. I just replaced one today that took a couple of years - the longest in my experience with them. I order so I always have a few extras. Yes, it's not quality, but what can you do? Replacing the entire faucet is very expensive. If I ever have to replace the entire faucet I bet it won't be this brand!
