This is a genuine NuTone motor. As other reviewers have pointed out, the squirrel cage on this device is about 0.5-1.0mm too close (or too big) to the throat of the tin it sits in. To allow my squirrel cage rotor to spin freely without catching on the edge of the sheet metal, I adjusted it so that it was about 0.5mm farther from the spin shaft. You may need to file, bend, or trim the sheet metal. Apart from this problem, the fan is a good replacement for the old bathroom fan. Combined with the new overlay, our renovated apartment bathroom shines in new splendor!
