I bought this to make veneer as I was looking for something that might work better than a razor blade or bandit tool. I used this on 3/4-inch thick cabinet quality plywood over which I laid a strip of birch veneer for adjustable shelving. I started making just a small batch at a time, making one side, then the other. But no matter how careful I was, I kept getting big gouges from the edging tape. In fact, I prefer the bandit's tool, and if I make good furniture I will continue to use a straight razor blade and patience. I really see no need for this tool as I've only tried it once for something relatively simple. Given the current and likely future price of plywood, I must continue to use what works for me to avoid unnecessary waste.
