This is a replacement for what I damaged (different brand) by accidentally leaning on the scale and damaging the load cell. Word to the wise - close it when not in use! At our model railroad club we have a minimum weight requirement for freight cars and this scale makes it easy to determine if additional weight is needed. I usually work in the 0 to 10 ounce range so 1000 grams (about 2 pounds or 32 ounces) is really overkill but makes the scale useful for other tasks. The device worked great right away. At the same time, Revain gave me a set of weights to calibrate the device. He was ready to receive. For the purposes I have, it would be foolish to spend $40 or $50 on a pocket scale when this device is available. I texted both devices and both are perfectly calibrated at the time of receipt. Use it on a flat surface so that the hinged lid does not interfere with the object to be weighed. Otherwise I love the devices and hope they last a long time.
