Shifter and mounting plates work well. It took a bit of "massaging", cleaning a few holes, sanding a few areas to clean some of the ribs on the gearbox, but that's to be expected. I've learned it's never a straight bolt. There are several threaded rods they give you. The long one going from the derailleur to the lever is fine, but the ones going from the intermediate link to the lever on the gearbox are too short. I had to purchase a piece of fixed 1/4" thread which wasn't difficult but a little excruciating. As the only 545RFE derailleur kit I can tell it has its flaws but it gets the job done. More than disappointed I was from the shift knob itself It's not the metal pin shown in the picture but a cheap black plastic pin with different colored 'gums' so you can add a colored ring around the edge, should fit in the groove around the switch but is too big and falls out every time you run your hand over the switch.I plan on gluing it in place and hopefully it does the job.I will try to replace the handle in the future though to improve the look of the car.In short, the switch works great, but the grip leaves something to be desired.
