I bought several bags as substrate for my Russian tortoise. Torta and we began to notice tiny white bugs crawling and jumping around on the bark. A quick google search says it's a tick. tons of them. Due to the pandemic and the @$$ pain of having to return etc. and the fact that we scrapped his old substrate, another google search told us our option was to put it. in the oven for 30-40 minutes at a temperature of 230 degrees or less. So. We're baking tree bark as I write this. Fun.
