This was my first time having a human hair drawstring ponytail so I was very excited. When I took it out of my bag it was cute, fluffy and soft. The texture was very similar to type 4b hair like mine. It was a promising start, but after a few minutes, after touching the hair and carefully examining the knot's construction, I noticed this STRONG smell. The smell conjured up childhood memories from the 1980's of hanging out with people who just had curly locks and this thing smelled like dozens of curly heads had just walked into my room! I was dizzy, could hardly breathe and felt nauseous! It may not have been Jerry's curling liquid, but the curling solution they used to curl their hair must have been a very strong, professional product. A full bucket was poured only on this little hair! smells very weak. I use unscented shampoo/lotion, argon oil, shea butter and aloe vera gel. That's all I can endure without getting sick. I thought cleaning the cap with baking soda and soaking it in lemon juice for an hour would work, but I don't think any products I can use would get rid of this smell even if I washed it 10 times. !Maybe curly human hair extensions aren't for me because they will probably have some sort of perm to make them curly. Or maybe it's cheap human hair that I should avoid. It would be better to save my coins for high quality, well done, unprocessed hair. They will likely last longer and hopefully not be as smelly. In any case, I decided to return it because my ability to breathe is much more important than a pretty hairstyle.
