I needed to replace a faulty sub amp board that would have cost about $100. Instead, I took a chance with this Nobsound 100-watt digital subwoofer. It works great for what it is, but only with a few extra parts: the volume control doubles as the power switch, and there's no auto-on feature like most powered subwoofers have. I use a remote switch (Etekcity) for the subwoofer. As a result, the bass level does not have to be adjusted every time the device is switched on. You need your own power supply. Many laptop power adapters will work. I'm using a 24v 5 amp brick from an old soundbar and it seems to perform about the same as my previous 100w plate amp. a cable to connect your amplifier/receiver's subwoofer output to the Nobsound input if your amplifier has a typical subwoofer RCA output. this little black box runs low and silent, no hum or buzz, just pure bass sound!
