This is a feature-rich smart outlet that does what it's designed to do with minimal effort. It's very well built and easy to pair with HomeKit. It uses Bluetooth to connect to HomeKit, which is both good and bad. Response time from the moment a verbal/physical command is given to press the button to turn on the switch from the phone can take 2 to 9 seconds. It's not as instantaneous as Wi-Fi equivalents. However, Bluetooth connections have their advantages. For example, I have an Orbi router and Netgear recently updated its firmware, which causes my Wi-Fi and HomeKit smart plugs for my HomeKit devices to continue to give the "No Response" error message. Orbi has since patched the firmware to fix this issue, but at the time Elgato Eve Smart Plugs were working properly because they don't use Wi-Fi. This plug is large and may prevent you from using a second outlet in some situations. The manual on/off switch is small but easily accessible. I personally find it a bit overpriced as the competition offers the same features for less money. Some even offer a handy wireless remote control in case your phone might not be the right place to turn on the switch.
