Works well. I got tired of running back and forth to the computer with books - I used to have a USB scanner. With this device I stand on the shelves and leaf through one book after the other. Made my cataloging a lot easier. I also recommend AllMyBooks cataloging software for those with large personal libraries (I'm a professor). The two work well together and are very helpful with the organization. There is nothing worse than wanting a specific book and not finding it or having 3 copies of the same book.
