Like the other reviewer, this was the second FireWire adapter card I tried. I needed to connect a Focusrite Saffire Pro 24 audio interface to a new PC running Windows 10 version 1909. The first card I bought was a StarTech brand card from NewEgg that didn't work. After plugging this card into the PCIe x1_1 connector of my Asus Prime Z390-A motherboard, the system will not POST at first. I tried several BIOS settings (with the card removed) but nothing allowed the system to boot with this card installed. Finally I moved the card to another port and booted the system. I found that no BIOS settings needed to be changed from the defaults and that this adapter card only worked with PCIe x1 ports 2 or 3, not port 1. Fortunately, there were no more problems after that. I connected my audio interface, booted up the computer and it worked. No special drivers need to be installed. Overall a huge relief after struggling with a bad map from NewEgg and not initially posting my system with that map.
