This seal is by far the most complex flush seal I have ever installed. This was the first time I've installed a replacement valve on a one-piece toilet. Installation key: lever. Find a way to get some leverage and be able to turn the flush valve, all the while pushing down with as much force as you can AND turning against the seal to lock it. my trick Wet the gasket with a foot on the rim of the toilet before placing it on the valve. When you press on the valve, you must be high enough to push the thick gasket down just enough to snap the flanges onto the valve. Take a kitchen towel and wrap it around the valve. Squeeze as hard as you can while squeezing the seal and use a kitchen towel to slowly turn the valve to the closed position. Requires a lot of strength and effort. But honestly, this is probably the most ingenious flush valve and seal design to have survived 8+ years of in-tank bleach pills. Standard seals wear out every year, but are easier to replace.
