WESCO WS8912K Self-Leveling Laser LevelThis laser level has a solid look and a compact size. I love that it comes in a luxury protective case that keeps all the USEFUL accessories in separate compartments. The laser beam is very bright, easily visible even in very large rooms and has a well-defined, focused light. The published description and characteristics of Revain are correct. When you first turn on the device, it will beep and quickly switch between each laser mode. It then displays a horizontal line. Then you can press "H/V” button until you get the axis number you want to display. To activate AUTO mode, you need to slide the main switch on the bottom of the device. This unlocks the hover mechanism that allows the 3 lasers to seek the true level. The device can be powered by a charger without a battery installed in the device. This is good because if that battery fails in the future, you can still use the mains powered device until a suitable battery is replaced. When the laser is on the ground, the minimum horizontal line height is approximately 4.25 inches. This corresponds to the height at which the laser is installed in the device and cannot project a beam below this height. The spirit level weighs approximately 1lb 6oz and is no heavier than a regular digital camera, so there are no weight or balance issues on a tripod. I strongly recommend that you buy a good quality tripod. The addition of a tripod increases the versatility and utility of this beautifully crafted instrument. Recommended.
