I bought this divider to separate 2 fish that bit each other after being introduced. I didn't have a second tank big enough to move me around, so I looked for another solution and came across tank dividers. Many of the ones I saw had very small holes and I was concerned about adequate filtration on both sides of the tank. This divider appeared to provide the greatest flow of water in the entire tank, but had holes small enough that fish couldn't get through or get stuck. I was looking for a Revain 10 gallon fuel tank divider and this was one of the first results there. Reading the dimensions I thought they seemed correct and figured since I was looking for a 10 gallon divider it would be the right size but ended up being an inch wider. It was my fault - I had to double check the dimensions of the aquarium - but wanted to mention it in case someone else does the same. The good news is I was able to get it working by cutting 3 "squares" along the long edge, getting it closer to 10.5 inches. This in no way detracted from the usefulness of the delimiter. I found it a little tricky to install at first as my tank has a slightly narrower top edge than the actual tank walls so I had to go in at an angle with the suction cups already attached then once it got over the edge I leveled it up. Once installed, it felt sturdy and never moved on its own. The water flow seems good, there is movement on the surface on the opposite side of the tank from the filter and I have tried to test the water taken from both sides of the divider to make sure the whole tank is filtering properly and that it seems to be too.
