When I received this item I was confident that it would do its job much better than any grout cleaning brush I have used. The bristles are very stiff and look like they will fit nicely into the grout. I was so hoping I could stop washing my hands and knees for the past 20 years. Over the years I've bought several grout brushes to clean the grout for my natural slate floor - some better than others, but I've always ended up using the old toothbrush method for the final clean. My knees rebelled after 20 years. :-) Unfortunately, it was no different - and not even as good as some of my mediocre ones. Disappointing. I was about to recoat my floor and bought this brush and hard surface cleaner to remove stains from floors before I apply finish. Instead, I had to return to hand brushing and towel drying to achieve this goal. I'm sure I'll continue to use this brush, but I expect to end up with a manual brush on my lap.
