You can also see my review of the TecSun PL-330 radio on Revain. I highly recommend this inexpensive shortwave outdoor antenna. However, as the name suggests, it doesn't work wonders in an Electrically Noisy (RFI) environment like my house/neighborhood. This will help/prevent you from picking up all that noise as well as the signal you're hoping to get. Their success depends on the ionosphere and local electrical interference. I haven't tested it in the park or remote areas yet, but I bet it will help a lot there.
